# How do I apply for leave using Pause?

There are three ways to apply for leave on Pause — and they're all as simple as it can get!

## On the Pause browser app

**Step 1:** Click on the **Calendar** button on the top navigation bar.

**Step 2:** Click on the **Apply** button on the right.

**Step 3:** Enter your **Leave Type** and the **Start** (and **End Date**) in the form that appears. You can also add a **Reason** if you wish.

**Step 4:** Click **Submit** when you're done.

Once you complete these steps, your request will be sent to your team approver. If you are an admin, your leave request will be auto-approved.

## On Slack

To use the Slack integration, you need to have Pause [integrated with Slack.](https://support.getpause.com/en/article/how-to-integrate-pause-with-your-slack-workspace-oc9dgr/)

**Step 1:** In any Slack channel or chat, type **/pause** and hit enter.

**Step 2:** Once Pause responds with a list of options, click on the **Apply for a Leave** option.

**Step 3:** Enter your **Leave Type** and the **Start** and **End Date**. You can also add a **Reason** if you wish.

**Step 4:** Click **Apply.**

Your request will be sent to your Approver. If you're an admin, your request will be auto-approved.

You're all set!

You'll receive a notification via Slack and email when your leave request has been accepted or rejected. If there is no response from your team approver, your leave request will be automatically approved.
